Visited San Pedro House a few weeks ago, mid July. Took a (hot) but lovely walk across the big field to the riparain areas on the river and into a (cool) birding paradise.
Among many other birds, my husband and I were startled to see a great blue heron as it lifted off, and flew down the narrow river bed. It’s wings seemed to stretch across the entire width of the running water; it was beautiful.
We are making this a regular spot in our future Cochise County travels.
